Welcome to Westmorland
History
Westmorland was platted and started to be divided into residential lots in 1916. As the neighborhood was developed from 1916 to 1929 housing starts where slow and slowed significantly more during the great depression. After WWll through 1960 there was a significant boom in building in the neighborhood. By 1960 Westmorland Neighborhood was no longer the western most subdivision in Madison as Midvale Heights and similar neighborhoods expanded westward further.
Location
Located on Madison's near west side and including over 800 homes westmorland is a larger subdivision with the feel of an early 1900's era. Large tree lined streets, diverse topography, and many curved streets enhance Westmorlands Charm. With a short drive to downtown, the West Side of Madison, the UW Campus, Middleton, and Verona commute times are minimal. Glenway Golf Course is on the east side, a bike trail run along the east side, walking distance to shops and resturants, Westmorland is a great place to call home for work and play!
